Boy, what a great lecture. I can’t believe how much she’s accomplished at her age. I liked this idea of play with her work. It reminds me a lot of what my mom used to say; if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.
My favorite pieces of advice from her:
- Must have the confidence to fail
- Persistence is key (good ideas take time to manifest)
- Have a sense of humor
- Always have motivation
While these definitely seem obvious, they are forgotten at times. I feel like I overanalyze success and it really just boils down to these ideas.
I also like the idea of being personal with work. A lot of the work I do is always to please to the brief/client. I never think about adding a piece of myself to it.
My favorite quote: Get off the computer and make shit.
