Summer so far

The transition from the end of the semester to know has been quite an interesting one. I am still not fully used to it. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that my peers and I worked straight up until two days before graduation. So we never got much of a smooth transition from then until now.

While I’ve been looking for work to do in the area (in addition to my reading, which, A Game of Thrones is just absolutely amazing), I have started working on previous projects to better my portfolio. Right now I’m currently working on the brand guidelines for Halle Architects, the brand identity project I have in my portfolio. That is a key aspect that is missing from that project and it can really add a lot to it. Here’s what I have so far, in terms of refining the logo:

The capital H’s help me to define more consistent spacing throughout the logotype and mark. The black of the logotype has been toned as to not be so overwhelming (and has a better placement). The kerning, which could use slightly more work, has been adjusted even further to be more consistent. I should this done and printed by the end of next week. The next project I’ll continue to refine will be my restaurant identity. Here’s a little sneak peek of that:
