A design system that unifies the digital presence of the university at the institutional and school/college level, leading to a cohesive brand experience.

Overview

A bold new design system for Philadelphia’s Public University

In 2018, Temple University discovered a new creative direction for the its brand language, enrollment and advertising work at both the institutional and school/college level. These discoveries have led to a unified brand language from both a content and design perspective.

With this new creative direction, the university needed a scalable design system that could work across all of the university’s web properties. This was also an opportunity to ensure that all the schools and colleges are within the same CMS framework. This guaranteed not only that the university was consistent through visual language, but also ensured that content and code came from a single source.

Brand Elements & Components

I also looked at the new brand elements that were introduced in the print and advertising work and began to extract elements that could be translated for web use. This would ensure that the use case of those elements would remain consistent across both mediums.
